DC’s Best Happy Hours Each Day

It’s no secret the District’s best hours are DC’s Happy Hours. DC runs on Happy Hour, and all Washingtonians know not all Happy Hours are made equal. Some are too short, some don’t save you much, and others just aren’t that happy. With so many DC bars out there the Happy Hour is often what sets one apart. We put ourselves on the mission to find DC’s Best Happy Hours for each day of the week. To decide the best Happy Hours we looked 1) at how long it lasts, 2) how big the discounts are, and 3) if we’d actually want to spend time at the bar. It turns out DC’s Happy Hour scene is so good we decided to give a winner and runner-up for each day.

Winner: Bar Charley

It’s hard to beat an all-day happy hour, and Bar Charley delivers just that every Monday. Even though it’s one of the classier establishments on the list this Dupont watering hole feels right for a Monday. Best known for their cocktails and Tiki drinks the Happy Hour serves them up for just $6. Couple that with $2 off wine and select canned beers and you have Monday’s winner.

Runner-up: The Tombs

The Tombs is synonymous with Georgetown student life and they know how to please a student. With four different beers priced at $3 and house wines at just $4 during Happy Hour, it fits your student budget. Throw in the Happy Hour food menu where everything priced $8 or less and the ½ priced burger special you’re definitely getting a bang for your buck at this Happy Hour.

Winner: Johnny Pistolas

This Mexican cantina boasts two Happy Hours on Tuesday. They have their patented 2,3,4,5 Happy Hour from 5-7pm ($2 Tacos, $3 Tecates, $4 Pacificos, $5 Margs) and a late night happy hour from 10-12 ($3 Tecate, $4 Pacifico, $5 Margs, $6 Sangria). You can choose to chill at the bar or at tables on either level of this AdMo favorite. When it’s nice there’s a small balcony you can chill on too.
